Cognitive Approach, Social Ethics & Sustainability

At Woxsen University, the School of Liberal Arts and Humanities have been established with the aim of developing the critical thinking abilities of the learners through interdisciplinary education, creativity-inducing engagements, and socially conscious endeavours. The idea has been to provide academic freedom and create an intellectual ecosystem that encourages diversity, inclusivity, and global awareness.

In accordance with these aims of the school which aspires to provide a platform for the inquisitive and exploratory-minded, the School of Liberal Arts and Humanities at Woxsen University is organizing its first international conference.

This is the first Woxsen Conference on Sustainability and Cognitive approach for a flourishing world and it intends to share commitments and ideas for taking immediate actions to seize opportunities for meeting the social challenges of the 21st Century.

The cognitive approach encompasses the entire realm of human existence. From learning, information processing, and carrying on complex mental activities to language acquisition, communication, coping with the social environment and making the decision for daily living; every phenomenon of modern society is getting included in the cognitive sphere. Leading a meaningful, sustainable and productive life, be it on a personal or professional front, the contribution of cognitive science to modern society has become undeniable.

We invite students, research scholars, social science researchers, academicians, policymakers, and professionals to attend this conference. All participants are encouraged to submit their abstracts for academic poster and paper presentations on the lead and associated conference themes.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

I. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please submit your abstract within 250 words and with 5 to 6 keywords. Full paper (within 4000-6000 words, including images, graphs, result tables and references to be submitted once abstract acceptance status is updated to you via email. Your article should follow the mentioned guidelines:
  • Title page comprising the following- Abstract Title, Sub-theme Title, Author’s & Co-author’s Names, Designation & Institutional Affiliation, Correspondence Details
  • Use Times New Roman, 12-Font, 1.5 line spacing, with ‘Justify’ alignment
  • Only Titles, Sub-titles and Headings to be in Bold
  • Adhere to the APA style guide for referencing
  • Implications of the Study
  • Incomplete paper, and plagiarised work will not be considered for final review

II. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE AUTHORS:

The entire abstract submission (title page in Title Case, abstract, main text, figures, graphs, tables, references, etc.) must be in ONE document using one of the following formats:
  • Papers must be submitted online using the Editorial Manager (EM) – EASYCHAIR system, which is a completely web-based submission, peer-review, and tracking system.
  • All submissions must be in English and include a brief abstract. It will be evaluated by independent experts (at least three) in the Blind peer review process.
  • All pages must be numbered in the same order. Tables and figures can be included within the text or placed on other pages with appropriate captions (s).
  • The title of the paper, the author's name(s), and entire institutional aliation(s) should all be mentioned on the first page of the manuscript. There should also be an abbreviated title (for running heads).
  • A list of 4—6 keywords should be provided immediately after the abstract. These keywords should be relatively independent (coordinate index terms) and should best describe the paper as a whole.
  • Footnotes, if any, should be numbered alphabetically and inserted at the end of a text page, apart from acknowledgements and grant information (not to be listed separately).
  • All the references should be mentioned in alphabetical order.
  • Submissions that do not follow the above instructions may be returned to the authors for correction before being published.



NOTE:

  • Abstract that does not follow the above instructions will NOT be reviewed.
  • Submitted abstract must not have been published or accepted for publication. If an abstract is under review, it must NOT appear in print before the conference.

Publication

Based on the theme of the accepted paper, the selected papers will be published with a publisher of repute:

  • Cognitive Sciences, Social Phenomena and Sustainable Development - CRC Press Taylor & Francis Publishers.
  • Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology – Elsevier.

Note: Authors of selected papers for the publication process will be contacted separately for more details. APC will be applicable for the final processing of publication.
